It is rumored now that an iPad, not an iPhone, might indeed be the first foldable device from Apple and that it will be out in 2020. A foldable iPhone could be pushed to 2021.

Market’s Wait Quite Long and Protracted

The market is by this time tired of waiting for the first proper foldable smartphone. It was expected that Samsung could win the race and the company did release the Samsung Galaxy Fold Foldable Phone as well. However, the product did not measure up to the hype and the company had to quickly beat a retreat and rework on the design and some other aspects.

The other company that was expected to launch a foldable phone is Huawei with its Mate X model and it was expected to be announced by now. For some reason, the company has gone into shell and there is no clarity on when the Mate X will reach the market.
