Foldable smartphones are on the path of becoming a standard in 2020. While Samsung is preparing even the sequel for its first foldable phone, another Asian manufacturer is presenting the world such a beautiful technological piece of majesty.

We’re talking about Huawei, and its foldable device is none other than the Mate Xs.

The Chinese company unveiled the Mate Xs smartphone (it could also be considered a phablet) during a recent event in Barcelona.

The gadget looks beautiful, and there’s no wonder why: there is liquid metal based on Zirconium for the hinge. As for the flexible display, it has a double layer of optical polyimide.

Specs

The gadget is equipped with a powerful camera that allows the user to capture photos in any lighting conditions. It is capable of doing so through the 40 MP Supersensing Leica Quad Camera System.

Also, Huawei’s foldable phone has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage powered by a Kirin 990 5G chipset. The battery is another one of the outstanding features: having the 55 W HUAWEI SuperCharge, the battery of 4500 mAh can be charged in just half an hour to an almost full amount.

No Google Play Store

It’s not a secret that those who will purchase the device won’t have the possibility of accessing the Play Store, which is Google’s official app store. This is the outcome of the US-trade ban on Huawei that affected plenty of devices made by the Chinese company. Therefore, those who will own a Huawei Mate Xs will have the difficult task of proving that there is life without apps and services from Google.

Price

Those willing to get their hands on Huawei’s Mate Xs foldable device will have to dig deep into their pockets. The technological beauty costs around 2500 euros a piece, but it’s clearly worth the money.

Trying to guess what other huge company will bring a foldable phone to the market this year seems like a decent challenge. More
