The latest photo leak gives us a clear picture of the Motorola Razr foldable phone.
Evan Blass, a well-known leaker of upcoming phones, shared images on his private Twitter account showing pictures of what is likely the Moto Razr folding phone. The images show what looks like a Moto Razr V3 but instead of a small screen and keypad, there is a long display that spans the entire phone and folds in half. When closed, images show the phone’s front screen being used to frame a selfie and replying to a text message.
These new photos come just a month after Motorola verified that it would be launching a foldable phone by the end of 2019. This lines up with earlier rumors from Dutch site Let’s Go Digital that said the upcoming Moto Razr foldable phone would launch in the US “within the next few months” and in Europe in December. Hype and rumors that Motorola is revamping its iconic Razr flip phone have been circulating since January, and have continued throughout the year.
The foldable phone race has been one filled with delays with other phone makers like Samsung and Huawei postponingthe launches of their folding phones. Interestingly enough, the latest Moto Razr news comes on the same day that the Samsung Galaxy Fold went on sale in the US.
At the beginning of September, Bloomberg reported that Samsung is working on a second foldable phone to follow the Galaxy Fold, and like the upcoming Moto Razr, it will fold down into a pocketable size.
It’s also speculated that the Motorola Razr won’t be as powerful and high-end as other foldable phones like the Galaxy Fold Foldable phone and Huawei Mate X, but there are a lot of reasons to be excited about a Moto Razr foldable phone. More info
