Galaxy Fold – Samsung Electronics Co.’s first-ever foldable phone that has been creating a splash across the world, arrives in the United States on Friday, five months after the launch was delayed due to hardware issues.
Samsung Electronics America Inc., the local unit of the Korean tech giant, said on Monday (local time) that it will begin sales of Galaxy Fold on September 27 via mobile carrier AT&T, major consumer electronics retailer Best Buy, Samsung Experience Store, and samsung.com online store.
The launch of the foldable phone has been delayed from original plan of April after issues were raised with the handset’s screens. Samsung Electronics has made design and construction improvements so that the device is better protected from external particles while maintaining foldable experience.
According to Samsung Electronics, the company made reinforcements by extending the top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display beyond the bezel to cover up the entire screen, “making it apparent that it is an integral part of the display structure and not meant to be removed.” More
