Samsung Electronics announced on Nov. 5 that it will increase foldable phone production in 2020.

“We will ramp up foldable phone production next year,” said Ko Dong-jin, head of the IM Business Division at Samsung Electronics. He met reporters after attending Samsung Artificial Intelligence (AI) Forum 2019 held at the company’s R&D Center in Woomyeon-dong, Seoul.
In its bid to take the lead in the emerging foldable phone market, Samsung Electronics unveiled a clamshell-type foldable phone that can fold up and down at Samsung Developer Conference 2019 held in San Jose, California, on Oct. 29.
Referring to the new foldable phone model, Ko said, “It’s not time to disclose when we will release the new product to the market.”
The clamshell-type foldable phone looks like the flip phone of the past. It is much more portable than the Galaxy Fold as its size can be significantly decreased when folded. More
