SAMSUNG fans might've had their worst nightmare confirmed, with a new leak suggesting the Galaxy Note has been discontinued.

There have been rumours for some time that the Seoul-based firm was planning to axe its Galaxy Note range.

For a very long time, in fact. According to a new leak, Samsung is planning to scrap the Galaxy Note as they push ahead their foldable phone range, with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 set to be joined by an unannounced new foldable handset that will cost less than $1,000. With the Galaxy S series still going strong (and now compatible with the S Pen stylus), it makes sense for Samsung not to juggle three flagship ranges, including the Note and Fold series.

Reliable Samsung leakster, Ice Universe, is one of the most well-respected Samsung tipsters around right now and regularly drops leaked images of new handsets before the devices are officially announced. And according to the leakster’s well-placed sources, the Note range will be discontinued.

On Twitter Ice Universe posted an image of a The End card that you’d typically see in a very early black and white movie alongside the simple message: “Galaxy Note”. And Ice Universe isn’t the only one predicting the demise of the Galaxy Note range.

Earlier this month tipster MauriQHD tweeted: “Note 21 series is not happening”.

Express.co.uk previously reported on the rumours that the Note range could be reaching the end of the line last year.

These rumours were sparked after Ice Universe once again dropped a big hint that there may not be a Note 21 device in 2021. Last November, Ice Universe tweeted to say there was no information available on the development of a new Note phone. Ice Universe tweeted: “An unusual clue: There is currently no information on the development of the Note21 series.”

This is significant as usually, this kind of information surfaces six to eight months ahead of a new phone’s launch. Many saw this as a sign that the Note 21 might not ever come to store shelves.

This appeared to be further backed up by another high-profile leaker, Max Weinbach, who back in November tweeted about the flagships Samsung should be launching in 2021.

Here are the devices Weinbach highlighted: S21 FE, S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 and Z Fold FE. The latter is the rumoured cheaper foldable smartphone that Samsung has up its sleeve.

Interestingly, the Android Police writer claimed three of these 2021 phones will have S Pen support. If that’s the case then that could be Samsung’s way of catering to the crowd that would typically pick up a new Note when it’s time to upgrade. More
