Sony is holding a press conference at Mobile World Congress 2019 to help kick off the biggest mobile event of the year.

The company’s keynote will likely cover new products and technologies it is developing. Keep in mind Sony used MWC 2018 to announce the Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. As for this year, at least two new phones are expected. 

When is the Sony MWC 2019 press event?

The date for your diary is 25 February (Monday), with the keynote commencing at 8:30am CET in Barcelona. The press conference is open to the media, though Sony will livestream it all around the globe for others to watch.

  • San Francisco: 11:30pm Sunday PST
  • Mumbai: 1:00pm IST

Yes, Sony has confirmed that it will be hosting a livestream for the launch event in Barcelona, although it hasn’t yet provided the specific details of where that video stream will be.

What can you expect at the Sony MWC 2019 press conference?

Rumours about Sony Mobiles future plans have circulated around a new flagship devices, the Sony Xperia XZ4. It was originally suggested that there would be a regular and a Compact model, although recently the Compact model has come into doubt. The Xperia XZ4 is likely to give a full hardware refresh to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, but the biggest change is expected to be a switch to a 21:9 CinemaWide display.
